Grand Theft Auto IV is het beste spel van 2008

Nieuws | 15 december 2008 - Afgelopen nacht zijn tijdens de Video Game Awards weer de nodige prijzen verdeeld onder de spellen die dit jaar zijn verschenen. Één van die prijzen was natuurlijk de Game of the Year Award. Grand Theft Auto IV mocht zich dit jaar de gelukkige prijzen, want dit spel kreeg de eer om als beste spel van 2008 door het leven te gaan.

Andere prijzen die werden toegekend aan Grand Theft Auto IV naast de Game of the Year Award waren die voor Best Action/ Adventure Award en Best Performance by a Human Male Award. Grand Theft Auto IV moest het opnemen tegen onder andere Fallout 3, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots en Gears of War 2.

Gears of War 2 mocht de Best Xbox 360 Game Award en Best Shooter Award mee naar huis nemen. LittleBigPlanet mocht zich beste PlayStation 3 game noemen en de ontwikkelaar van LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule, is tot beste studio uitgroepen. Als laatste kreeg het spel World of Goo de Award voor Best Independent Game.
